Ankara's exports stood at 15 billion dollars in 2024

Exports from Ankara last year increased by 16.8 compared to 2023 and approached 15 billion dollars.    According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), Turkey's exports renewed the Republic's record with 261.9 billion dollars last year, while the capital's exports also reached remarkable heights.


Within this scope, while exports of 7 billion 960 million dollars were realized from Ankara in 2020, this amount increased to 9 billion 496 million dollars in 2021.


The capital's exports climbed to 12 billion 4 million dollars in 2022 and reached 12 billion 824 million dollars in 2023.


Last year, the exports of this province increased by 16.8 percent compared to 2023 to 14 billion 976 million dollars.


When the countries that Ankara exported to last year were examined, the United States took the first place. 1 Billion 565 million dollars of exports were made to this country from the capital.


The USA was followed by China with 923 million dollars, Bulgaria with 884 million dollars and Germany with 774 million dollars. The fifth country where the capital realized the most exports was Iraq with 609 million dollars.


The least exported countries from Ankara were Eswatini with $ 571, Turks and Caicos Islands with $ 400 and Falkland Islands with $ 63.


Arms and ammunition exports are at their peak

Manufacturing industry products stood out in the foreign sales made from the capital last year.


Within this scope, arms and ammunition exports were at the top with 1 billion 579 million dollars, while the export amount of special purpose machinery was 1 billion 335 million dollars.


During this period, the exports of basic chemicals, fertilizers, plastics and synthetic rubber amounted to 1 billion 97 million dollars, and the exports of metal building materials, tanks, reservoirs and steam generators amounted to 906 million dollars.


General purpose machines were also determined as the 5th category with the most foreign sales with 881 million dollars.
